A Mocktail or Three with Anna Smith Spark

I’ve said it a stack of times, but The Court of Broken Knives by Anna Smith Spark was my favourite book of 2017. Having bought a short story from her and chatted a bit online, I figured it was time to sit down for a beer (due to experiencing Marith-level hangovers at the mere whiff of alcohol, Anna pulled out a special mocktail).

In this interview we discussed a range of things, covering inspiration, her book and, my favourite topic of the moment, Marith. If you haven’t yet checked out my review of The Court of Broken Knives make sure you give it a few minutes of your time. Then, make sure you go out and buy it. I’m not sure you can say you’ve lived until you check this book out.

Adrian Collins

Adrian Collins runs Grimdark Magazine and loves anything to do with telling darker stories. Doesn't matter the format, or when it was published or produced--just give him a grim story told in a dark world by a morally grey protagonist and this bloke's in his happy place. Add in a barrel aged stout to sip on after a cheeky body surf under the Australian sun, and that's his heaven.
